Public Hearing for Community Development Block Grant

The Chesterfield Select Board is holding a Public Hearing regarding the planning for the Mass. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) FY 15 Program. The Hearing will take place on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 6:00 PM at the Select Board Meeting room in the Town Hall, 422 Main Road (Rte 143), Chesterfield. The building is accessible to persons with disabilities. Any persons needing special accommodations should contact Bea von Hagke at Hilltown CDC (296-4536, Ext. 115) at least one week prior to the meeting.

All persons or organizations wishing to be heard will be afforded the opportunity.

Public comment is invited on the following meeting topic:

An application to the Federal FY 2015 Massachusetts CDF I Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for the participating communities of Chesterfield, Cummington, Goshen, Peru, Plainfield, Williamsburg and Worthington. The participating Towns are considering applying jointly for the following possible projects: Housing Rehabilitation Program and Social Services Programs including: Health Outreach Program for Elders program run by the Hilltown Community Health Centers, Inc., Hilltown Food Pantry run by the Northampton Survival Center; the Hilltown Elder Network Program administered by Hilltown CDC, and the Childcare Subsidy Program.

The general public and representatives of participating towns and organizations with ideas regarding these projects or other possible projects should attend to present their views. The Town of Chesterfield, through its Select Board, will be responsible for grant oversight. Hilltown Community Development Corporation (Hilltown CDC) will assist the Chesterfield Select Board by preparing the CDBG grant application and will oversee implementation of the projects if the grant is awarded.
